The Dead Sea Scrolls will be on display at Houston's Museum of Natural Science from November 20 - December 17, 2026. In preparation for your museum visit, St. Cecilia Tours invites you to learn more about one of history's most profound archaeological revelations with our Biblical Scholar in Israel, Aviv Herzlich. We will offer a Zoom presentation on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 10 AM (Central,) where we will investigate the impact of the scrolls and what we can learn regarding the context of geography, history, theology, and the language of the scriptures Jesus would have known.

Meet our Team and Presenters
St. Cecilia Tours and Aviv Tours join forces as leading experts in Biblical archaeology, and Theological geography in the context of first century history, which will guide participants through an introduction and specific topics related to the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Mr. Aviv Herzlich
Biblical Scholar and an authority on the theological implications of geography in Biblical text, Aviv Herzlich will examine the named places of the Dead Sea Scrolls including Jerusalem, the Wilderness, the Jordan Valley, and other locations that shaped the faith and daily lives of people in biblical times.
Dr. Laura Avery
Lecturer and specialist in history, antiquities, and mystery schools throughout the Levant. Laura will offer a brief overview on etymology and how various cultures have been informed by interpretation and application of ancient languages.
Dr. Eric Gundersen
Eric will offer a brief intro to the Qumran - Essene community in the first century, and a few examples of the scriptures that Jesus would have known by comparing the Hebraic language of the DSS, to the Masoretic and LXX text, and how it relates to our Bible today.
